Answer:

I'm going to assume this is about the American Civil War. First of all, the North had better technology/weapons since the North was more industrialized than the South. Second, they had more people, and with strategic planning, they boxed the South in and won.

The North had a population of 22 million people against the 9 million in the South (of whom almost half were slaves.)
The North was more industrial and produced 94 percent of the USA’s pig iron and 97 percent of its firearms. The North even had a richer, more varied agriculture than the South.
The Union had a larger navy, blocking all efforts from the Confederacy to trade with Europe.
The Confederacy hope that France and Britain would come to their aid due to their need of cotton, but these countries had enough cotton and a bigger need for Northern corn.
The North controlled both the shipping and railroad avenues, allowing them to trade and to get supplies fairly quickly.
The Union had more support: four slave states still remained loyal and not everybody in the 11 Confederate states were on the Confederate side. There were still plenty of people in the South that supported the Union.
Many slaves fled to the Union armies, providing even more manpower.
The South squandered their resources early in the war by focussing on conventional offensives instead of non-conventional raids on the Union’s transportation and communication infrastructure.
Lee’s offensive war strategy had a high cost in casualties, destroying a large part of the Confederate army.

machiavelli ignores moral issues in favor of practical politics. what does this indicate about how attitudes in the Renaissance
svetlana [45]
Attitudes have changed since the middle ages because in the middle ages the people were unable to follow under a ruler because there was so much failure and suffering going around. The people would blame the rulers for their suffering and problems because they were unable to fix what was going on. During the Renaissance people began to put their faith back in their government. They once again began to believe that their ruler would be able to do what was best for them. Even though Machiavelli's approaches at governing were not the most popular he did what he felt was best and the most practical for his people.

What factors made it difficult to for the continental congress to create an effective army
lutik1710 [3]
Yeomen refused to fight in continental army, would only fight in local coalitions, the people refused the military draft ( the government ended up having to pay bounty for them to fight for shorter than original term). In addition, the soldiers were often poor youths, older foreign-born men, ex-convicts, and former indentured servants so they were untrained and unfinished

What is the last step in the lawmaking process?
vovangra [49]

ANSWER: B) The president has to sign it.

EXPLANATION: There are eight steps of forming a bill into law which starts from drafting of the bill and ends when the president signs on it. There is one more step after president signing the bill which is if the senate decides to reject the bill, they can veto it and it will not be passed into a law. This step is an optional one and happens only if the president signs the bill after the bill does not get majority vote from both the houses. So, to conclude, president signing the bill can be considered as the last step of lawmaking process.
