Answer:

Height of Building is 34.3 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Length of shadow of  building = 20 ft

Length of shadow of flagpost     = 7 ft

Height of flagpole = 12 ft

Let, height of building is x

This problem is of Direct proportion,

As when if height of object increases then length of shadow also increases at same time.

We use the result,

\frac{x_1}{x_2}=\frac{y_1}{y_2}

\frac{x}{20}=\frac{12}{7}

x=\frac{12}{7}\times20

x=\frac{240}{7}

x=34.2857143

x=34.3

therefore, Height of Building is 34.3 ft

The percentage of married couples who own a single family home is 33% for a given population. A financial analyst is interested
erik [133]

Answer:

For samples of size n=200, the standard error is of 0.033.

For samples of size n=300, the standard error is of 0.027.

For samples of size n=400, the standard error is of 0.024.

Step-by-step explanation:

Central Limit Theorem

The Central Limit Theorem estabilishes that, for a normally distributed random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the sampling distribution of the sample means with size n can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}.

For a skewed variable, the Central Limit Theorem can also be applied, as long as n is at least 30.

For a proportion p in a sample of size n, the sampling distribution of the sample proportion will be approximately normal with mean \mu = p and standard deviation s = \sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}}

The percentage of married couples who own a single family home is 33% for a given population.

This means that p = 0.33

Samples of 200:

s = \sqrt{\frac{0.33*0.67}{200}} = 0.033

For samples of size n=200, the standard error is of 0.033.

Samples of 300:

s = \sqrt{\frac{0.33*0.67}{300}} = 0.027

For samples of size n=300, the standard error is of 0.027.

Samples of 400:

s = \sqrt{\frac{0.33*0.67}{400}} = 0.024

For samples of size n=400, the standard error is of 0.024.

A candle shop sells scented candles for $16 each and unscented candles for $10 each.The shop sells 28 candles today and makes $4
Aliun [14]
Lets call s the number of scented candles sold, and u the number of unscented candles sold and write as an equation the info provided in the problem:
16s + 10u = 400
s + u = 28
that is, the first equation synthesize the fact that the amount of unscented candles times its quantity plus the amount of scented candles times its quantity equals $400
and the second equation synthesize the fact that the number of scented and unscented candles add up to 28
Now you just need to solve the system of two linear equations with two unknowns to get the specific value of the scented and unscented candles.

The volume V of a cube with sides of length x inches is changing with respect to time t (in seconds). When the sides of the cube
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

dV/dt = 3×10^2 × 0.5 = 150 in^3/sec

the volume of the cube is increasing at 150in^3/sec

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume V = length l^3

V = x^3

Differentiating both sides;

dV/dt = 3x^2 dv/dt

Given;

x = 10 in

dx/dt = 0.5 in/sec

dV/dt = 3×10^2 × 0.5 = 150 in^3/sec

the volume of the cube is increasing at 150in^3/sec

A bicycle store costs $2800 per month to operate. The store pays an average of $80 per bike. The average selling price of each b
murzikaleks [220]

Let x = quantity of bicycles

($160x) - ($80x) = $2800. To solve for x, we have to combine the terms on the left side.

$80x = $2800. Divide each side by $80.

x = 35.

35 bicycles must he sold each month to break even.
