Answer:

Taxol alters cytosolic calcium signaling by opening mitochondrial pores

Explanation:

Taxol is an antimitotic (i.e., cytotoxic) agent used in chemotherapy to kill cancer cells. Taxol is an antimitotic drug that has been successfully used in different types of cancer including ovarian cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, sarcoma, etc. Recently, it has been shown that Taxol may induce rapid cytosolic calcium (Ca2+) response by producing a decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential associated with the loss of mitochondrial Ca(2+). In consequence, it has been proposed that the side effects of chemotherapy might be associated with the action of cytotoxic agents such as Taxol which alters mitochondrial function and Ca(2+) signaling cascade.

What is on a transplanted organ that causes the transplant recipient's body to reject it?
Delvig [45]

Answer:

Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens

Explanation:

The process in which recipient body rejects the transplanted organ is called a allograft rejection or transplantation rejection.

A transplanted organ contains Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens which are required to be accepted by the recipient's body to function properly but T cells in recipient's body become alloreactive and recognize MHC antigens (donor-derived antigens) as foreign and starts making antibodies against it. Which means the recipient's body is rejecting the  transplanted organ.

Hence, the correct answer is "Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens".

during exercise ,energy demand in the muscle increases.which other body system directly provide for this demand?
TEA [102]
During exercise, a number of changes occur to maximise the body's oxygen intake. Firstly our heart rate/ pulse increases. This is due to the heart beating much faster and more forcefully to pump blood faster around the body.
Our breathing rate increases to intake more oxygen and exhale more CO2.

The smooth muscle in our trachea and bronchi relaxes to increase the lumen size thus making breathing easier. Adrenaline may also be released leading further amplifying these changes as well as reducing blood flow to the gut and thus peristalsis occurs at a much slower rate.

Also when we exercise we respire more, producing heat, which must be expelled. This may be done through sweating. Another physiological change that occurs is vasodilation of arterioles closer to the skin to allow more blood to flow closer to the skin, allowing more heat to radiate out.
