World War II had made it hard for women to settle back into their roles of motherhood because they had started to work jobs. Women also had to take over and act as the fatherly figure because the men were fighting in the war. After the war, most women did not get to keep their jobs, and was odd for them to only play the role of the mother in families.

Article 6, Supreme Law, refers to the Supreme Law of the Land. 

It states, 
"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding." 


Meaning that:

-the Laws of the U.S. (current, and future ones),
-Treaties that have been made or that will be made -
