Because of the soil the rocks are in. If They stayed in that soil for a while which affected the compounds, shifting the mineral composition.

Hi there!

I am guessing the best place for the surgical hole to be cut, might be towards the center of the front of the neck. This should only be performed in a SERIOUS situation because of how dangerous it is. Cutting a small hole in the neck would help the person to breathe again.
