Yes, I agree with the author’s stance that fats, carbohydrates and proteins are needed for a healthy diet because these three macromolecules provides energy molecules after digestion. Carbohydrates provides quick energy which can be broken down into glucose molecules that can be taken by the cell and the mitochondria of the cell broken down the glucose molecules in order to produce ATP molecules while on the other hand, protein are broken down into amino acids which is used in the formation of muscles in the body. Fats are also broken down into fatty acids that provides huge amount of energy and can be stored in the body and used whenever it is needed.
