The federalists, the most notable of which being Alexander Hamilton, were for the ratification of the constitution during the constitutional convention. They believed that the articles of confederation were far too weak. Some of their key beliefs included; the separation of powers would prevent any person or group from dominating the government; Power would be shared between the federal and state governments; The large republic would work by fragmenting political power. The Anti-Federalists, were in agreement that the Articles of Confederation were too weak. They however, were fearful of a strong federal government like the one proposed in the constitution. They believed; A large republic with many diverse interests would be doomed to fail; The president and Congress would be too powerful; A standing army would threaten national liberty; The federal government would overwhelm the states; and individual rights needed to be protected. In order to get the nine states needed for ratification, the Federalists promised to create the bill of rights after the constitution was ratified.

Answer: Albany Plan

The Albany Plan of Union was one of many attempts to unify the colonies under one government. It was created by Benjamin Franklin, then delegate of Pennsylvania, at the Albany Congress on July 10, 1754 in Albany, New York.

The Plan called for a general government that was to be administered by a President General that was appointed by the Crown and a Grand council of delegates nominated by the colonial assemblies, roughly to match colony size. Each colony, however, would only have one vote and decision making would be by unanimous consensus.

Copies of the Plan were sent to the Colonial Assemblies and the Board of Trade in London, however, they both rejected the Plan.

This economic recovery plan was similar to the Treaty of Versailles.
tatyana61 [14]

The correct answer is A. Marshall Plan.

The treaty of Versailles was an international agreement that put an end to the WWI and established an economic recovery plan for the reconstruction of the victorious countries. This treaty put all the responsibility of the war on the central powers, who had to pay exorbitant compensations to the allies.

The Marshall plan was a United States initiative to help Western European countries to recover after WWII, mainly the UK, France, and Western Germany. Its main goal was to avoid Communism to spread over Western Europe and to make of these countries important allies of the United States against the Soviet Union.

Due to the common objectives of these two economic recovery plans and the context in which they were applied, we can see they share many similarities.
