- The British made tactical mistakes, they underestimated the Patriots and their lack of respect and overconfidence was what make them lost.
- The British misunderstood the political nature of conflict. The British thought it was a traditional war but they were wrong. The Patriots fought for their freedom, for themselves to be a free America.
- The leadership of George Washington as a key factor for the Patriots to win. He knew when to retreat from the battle and how to conserve his army even though they lost many of the battles.
- They received help from the French by giving them weapons and tactics. The French also wanted revenge with the British so they were going to do anything to help the Patriot won.
