We need to find the cost of  5/8 yards.

- Multiply the cost of 1 yard by 5/8

3 1/2=7/2

The cost =  7/2×5/8=35/16

Change the improper fraction to a mixed number

35/16=2 3/16

∴ The cost =2 3/16 dollars
