6. Krystal is exploring the properties of iron. She takes a large iron nail and finds that the nail does not attract other metal

objects. Next, she uses a battery and copper wire to transform the nail into an electromagnet. When she connects the circuit, the nail becomes magnetic and can pick up small metal objects like paper clips.
What best describes what has happened to the iron in the nail that causes it to become magnetic?

A. A physical change has occurred, because the chemical properties of the iron remain the same.

B. A physical change has occurred, because there is a chemical attraction between the iron and paper clips.

C. A chemical change has occurred, because there is a chemical attraction between the iron and paper clips.

D. A chemical change has occurred, because the chemical energy in the battery is transformed into magnetic energy in the iron.

What is the condition in which the patient's pupils are normally unequal?
andrew11 [14]
The correct answer is "anisocoria". Anisocoria is the condition when the patient's pupils are normally unequal and the patient is asymptomatic and clinically stable. This should be differentiated in cases of patient with a relative afferent pupillary defect such is patients with optic neuritis or retinal detachment or in patients with neurological deficits.

Which stage of cellular respiration produces the most atp?
ankoles [38]

Answer:

Electron transport Chain (Oxidative phosphorylation)

Explanation:

Cellular respiration can be defined as the process that involves the breakdown of glucose molecules into CO2 and H2O to generate energy inform of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP).  Also, cellular respiration usually takes place in the cells of an organism by converting biochemical energy present nutrients into Adenosine Triphosphate. Furthermore, it takes place in three stages which includes: glycolysis, TCA cycle and Electron transport (Oxidative phosphorylation). Thus, oxidative phosphorylation is the final stage of aerobic cellular respiration that produces maximum ATPs.

Describe in words what occurs during the process represented by the photosynthesis equation. Include the importance of sunlight
8_murik_8 [283]

Photosynthesis usually takes place in the leaves. Leaf cells contain many chloroplasts (up to 50 per cell). These organelles contain a green pigment, chlorophyll, capable of capturing light energy. This energy is used to make sugar molecules from water drawn from the soil by the roots and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, captured by the leaves. The sugars produced subsequently distributed in the different parts of the plant.

Here is the reaction of photosynthesis:

6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light energy ==> C6H12O6 (glucose) + 6 O2

But this balance is in fact broken down into two successive stages:

photochemical reactions (clear phase):

12 H2O + light ==> 6 O2 + chemical energy;

the Calvin cycle (dark phase):

6 CO2 + chemical energy ==> C6H12O6 + 6 H2O.

The first phase of photosynthesis, called clear phase, requires the illumination of the leaf. Chlorophyll, which is embedded in the thylakoid membrane, absorbs light energy. This energy absorption is accompanied by the degradation of water molecules and the release of oxygen.

In a second phase independent of light, called the dark phase, the energy absorbed by chlorophyll is used for the transformation of carbon dioxide molecules into sugar molecules.

The sugars made by photosynthesis are stored in the cell as starch, transformed into other organic molecules, such as proteins, or degraded in the mitochondria during respiration to meet the energy needs of the plant.
