marin [14]

The relationship between the Muslims and the Christians in the Iberian Peninsula since its conquering by the Muslims has been rather tense and bad in general.

Though there's certain period of partial peace during the Muslim rule of the peninsula, still, the peace was because of intimidation and force, as there were lot of Christians that were discriminated against and were killed, the same goes for the Jews as well.

Because of this, the Christians were constantly trying to break free from the Muslim Caliphate, and when they finally did, the Christians from this region became one of the most ''hard core'' followers of the faith. Also, the Christians from the Iberian Peninsula put a lot of effort in order to spread the religion as much as possible, which is very evident with the Christian populations in the Latin America region nowadays.
