Many slaves and blacks did not get justice, and whites got off with a lot.The system was racially biased in the time period.
This is important because if someone is falsely accused of a crime they are not automatically punished. They have the opportunity to defend themselves and have a jury listen to them
The men sacrificed they’re lively hoods. Went through hell. And showed above the call of duty for our country. They deserve the honor and respect they deserve.
