Answer:

A = $4000

Explanation:

given data:

total investment $12000

interest on CD= 4%

Interest on bond =7%

the portion invested in the CD is A

total portion invested as a bond = $12,000 - A

total portion earned on the CD = 0.04A.

The total interest gain on the bond = 0.07(12000 - A).

equation for  the total interest earned is:

0.04A + 0.07(12000 - A) = 720

0.04A + 840 - 0.07A = 720

-0.03A = -120

A = $4000

ruslelena [56]

Answer: Debit Notes Receivable $10,400; credit Accounts Receivable $10,400.

Explanation:

Mifflin Company is receiving the note back from Payton Summers which means that Payton Summers intends to settle their account. The correct entry to record therefore is one that closes off the Notes Receivable account by debiting it as it was on a credit balance.

The other account would be the Accounts Receivable account which would need to be credited by the amount owed to close off the account as it was on a debit balance as Accounts Receivables are when customers are still owing.

In the budget constraint framework, when the price of a good rises and demand for the other good decreases, what can you say abo
nignag [31]

Answer:

The increase in demand of the product with the higher price or decrease in demand for the other goods is because the substitution effect is outweighed by the income effect of price increase.

Explanation:

The above explanation in economics refers to Giffen Good. The idea behind this concept Giffen is that if you do not have money and there is an increase in the price of a fundamental product such as bread, it is still impossible to afford other alternatives, hence you will go ahead to buy bread or avoid buying any of the product. Hence, the demand for other product will also decrease in this case. This means that the demand for product with higher price or decrease in other substitute product is due to the fact that the income effect outweighs the substitution effect. Hence people do not have the money to even afford the alternative product.

Answer: The correct answer is "a. the dollar will depreciate and the peso will appreciate.".

Explanation:  If the inflation rate in the United States rises relative to the inflation rate in Mexico, it follows that the dollar will depreciate and the peso will appreciate.

As inflation in the United States is higher, the dollar is affected by a loss of purchasing power, therefore it depreciates with respect to the Mexican peso.
