The fourteenth amendment was written to protect african americans from laws that tried to take away their rights true or false
NikAS [45]
Hey there! Hello!

I would agree with this statement. The fourteenth amendment has to do with voiding laws/actions that deprive anyone of their constitutional rights, especially members of the African American community. It also has to do with citizenship, defining a citizen of America as anyone who was born on American soil – including African Americans. That citizenship can also not be taken from you as a result.

The fourteenth amendment also covers things like due process clause, equal protection clause, and general fair treatment of every American human being. I encourage you to do your own research on the topic in your spare time, but for now, your answer is True.

Hope this helped you out! Feel free to ask any additional questions if you have any.

Explain changes in American society and culture brought about by the baby boom.
xxTIMURxx [149]
Answer: The changes that occurred in society due to the baby boom is that the culture went from a conformity type of culture where people were aliened for being different, to a rebellious and individualist mindset. Examples of this is how baby boomers would listen to rock and roll and wear bright diverse clothing which was a complete opposite of their parents.

Describe the makeup of the majority of the workers in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory
dolphi86 [110]

Most of the workers are young immigrants. They were Russian Jews or Italians, some of them were also from Hungary and Germany. Nearly all of them spoke little to no English. Their age ranged from 12 to 15 years old. Sometimes the whole family (mother, daughter, sister) was employed at the factory. They were paid at piecework rates, so that the pay depended on the skill of the work done and on how quickly one worked.

They worked 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a half hour lunch break, sometimes non stop. They were paid about 6$ a week. The Factory was described as unsanitary and the women had to leave the building to use the bathroom. There was only one fire escape and one elevator.
