It is correct to say that the Renaissance produced an explosion of knowledge that impacted the reputation of the Church as the only institution that had "the truth."

Answer.

The invention of the Printing Press by Jonas Gutenberg helped to print text that spread across Europe and helped people to know more things that before were only known by the Church.

Provide.

That invention helped to spread texts that allowed the people to read and learn after a dark period of the Middle Ages. Another important advancement was the recognition of men as a being capable of thinking and grow through humanism principles. This combination ended the supremacy of the Church as the only source of information to explain things.

Of course, this did not appeal to priests and the pope because the Church diminished its power and control over its followers. However, people started to learn and experiment for themselves.
