Answer:

After the conquest of North Africa by Muslim Arabs in the 7th century CE, Islamic culture spread throughout West Africa via merchants, traders, scholars, and missionaries, that is largely through peaceful means whereby African rulers either tolerated the religion or converted to it themselves. In this way, Islam expanded across and around the Sahara Desert. In addition, the religion arrived in East Africa when Arab traders crossed the Red Sea and, in a second wave, settled along the Swahili Coast. Military campaigns did occur from the 14th century CE against the Christian kingdoms of Nubia, for example, while in the 18th century CE the Muslim Fulani launched a holy war in the Lake Chad region. There were also sometimes violent resistance by supporters of traditional African beliefs such as animism and fetish, spirit and ancestor worship.

What was a major component of the Schlieffen Plan
aksik [14]
The Schlieffen Plan was created in World War 1. It was used by the Germans to in order to fight France and Russia in the war. Germany was one of the central powers and was therefore in the "middle" of France and Russia. Russia was allied with France, so once a country declared war on France, the Russian army had to pitch in and help them fight.

Furthermore, the Germans declared war on France and Russia was ready to mobilize.

While Russia was mobilizing, the Germans wanted to fight one front at once quickly, so they could then fight Russia. They had to march through neutral Belgium and encircle the French army.

Which statements reflect the point of view Senator Beveridge expresses in "March of the Flag”? Check all that apply. Colonizatio
topjm [15]
The correct answer would be ALL EXCEPT the colonization goes against the right to self-government and that expansion is too expensive. Senator Beveridge was one of those who believed that it was a destiny of the United States to become a superpower and that it should expand overseas. The colonization benefits the US and the US should colonize Philippines and free them from the yoke of other barbaric rules. The people of Philippines were also not able to govern themselves as are not children, nor the Native Americans as the senator believed that consent of the governed applies only to those who are able to govern themselves.

Why are maps less accurate at showing earths surface than globe
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

The maps are the 2 dimensional representation of the earth's surface. This maps are often used to show the earth's surface. But in order to do so, there occurs distortion while projecting on a map. Some of the properties of the map that gets distorted are as follows-

(1) Distance

(2) Direction

(3) Shape

(4) Area

These distortion occurs because earth is spherical in shape. So, while projecting it gets distorted in the polar and the equatorial region mostly, as the pole appears to be larger in size and shape. The direction is also affected.

Due to this reasons, the maps are not so accurate in showing the earths surface, in comparison to a globe.
