I am doing a test with this question also and if i am not mistaken, the answer is bicycle. I think this because word broken is a particible, and when a word is modified, it is modifiying the specified word. So in the sentence, the participle is broken, and they word broken is speaking of the bicycle. So broken modifies the word bicylce. Answer: D bicycle.

How does a free-form outline differ from a modified outline? A. A free-from outline does not present the essential information.
g100num [7]

Answer

Hi,

The correct answer option is {D}

Explanation

A free-form outline is one prepared without following a specific technique. This can be any style that makes sense to you and the purpose. It is not organized in a specific manner. A modified outline is one that begins with a main topic, then the details follows. It has a structure that contains the main idea, details, explanations and additional evidence that support the details. Modified outline is commonly used by default due to its organized structure.

Hope this helps!

How does a story’s time period provide the reader with a reference point? Your answer should be 2 to 3 sentences.
Lostsunrise [7]

Answer:

The story's time period provides the reader with a reference point, for if someone reads a book about the early eighteen hundreds, they can assume that slavery has not yet been abolished and that people are outwardly racist. This helps provide a reference point, as if you didn't know the time period, you would be confused as why these events were happening.

Samoset approaches them "bouldly" and talks in "broken English," which they wonder about. He took in English from anglers who had beforehand gone to the area.
