This quote is meant to show American citizens how discriminatory using hyphens actually is. The point of the American country was equality for all of it's people, however, this equality has not come until recently for people of other nationalities, races, or genders.

The quote is asking the question, "if America is truly a non-discriminatory country, why do I have to categorize myself as Asian-American, rather than just American?"

The best choice is option C. A conceit is an "extended metaphor" - meaning it is drawn out or lengthy, possibly even explored throughout the entire poem. Another characteristic of a conceit is that it is often a surprising unexpected comparison - for example, comparing two things that are not at all related - which may help the author of the poem to more effectively grab the reader's attention.

An example of a conceit in poetry includes Shakespeare’s well-known sonnet, Sonnet 18, which begins “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” Throughout the poem, the subject (the person the narrator is talking about) is compared to a summer's day, making this an extended metaphor.

Roosevelt lists three specific goals for the economy. One of these goals is the following:
Burka [1]

Jobs for those who can work

Answer: Option B.

Explanation:

Employment is giving work opportunities to the people who are able to work and are willing to work at the prevailing wage rate at a particular period of time. More the employment opportunities given to the people, more would be the productive capacities of the people of the society.

If there is unemployment in the country, then there would be wastage of the human resources and therefore there would be less productivity in the economy. So in the case of the democracy, it is the duty of the government to provide the people of the country with the working opportunities to increase productivity.
