9514 1404 393

Answer:

  see below

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming i and j refer to the row and column of a given element, that matrix would be ...

  \left[\begin{array}{cc}2&3\\3&4\end{array}\right]

__

Rows are numbered top down, starting with 1. Columns are numbered left-to-right, starting with 1. The upper left element is in row 1, column 1, so has a value here of 1+1 = 2. Each number is one more than the one to its left. Each number is 1 more than the one above it.

Does anyone know how to <br> Solve the system of equations.<br><br> <br><br> −3x+y=2<br> 7x−8y=1
Fantom [35]
You could use the substitution method. in this you’ll solve one equation for one variable. we’ll do the first one for y.
add 3x to both sides, so y = 3x + 2
then add that into the other equation for y.
7x - 8(3x +2) = 1
7x- 24x - 16 = 1
-17x - 16 = 1
-17x = 17
x= -1
now that you know what x is, you can find out y with the equation we made earlier. y = 3x+2
y = 3(-1) + 2
y = -3 + 2
y = -1

A printing business employs 35 people. The employer offers the employees an insurance package that costs the company $2,170. The
7nadin3 [17]

Answer:

New plan better

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to compare the cost of the first plan, $2170, to the cost of this  new plan. Fot this, we need to find the cost of the new plan. We need an equation for this.

For the new plan there is a fixed cost of $70, i.e, no matter how many employees there will be, the firm would have to pay $70. Then, if it has 1 employee, would face a cost of $70 + $59, where this $59 is the cost per employee. If the firm has 2 employees the cost will be $70 + $59 + $59 = $70 + 2*($59). If it hires 3 employees: $70 + $59 +$59 +$59 = $70 + 3*($59). And so forth for 4, 5, 6 employees.

Then, for the 35 employees the firm has the cost is:

$70 + 35*($59) = $2135

As $2135 < $2170, this new plan is better

the height of the triangle is 4cm and the base width is 18 cm and the base length is 18 cm what is the surface area of a square
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

The surface area is 664 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

A=a^{2} +2a\sqrt{\frac{a^{2}}{4} } +h^{2}          Use this equation to find the surface area

A=18^{2} +2(18)\sqrt{\frac{18^{2}}{4}  } +4^{2}   Simplify

A=324 +36\sqrt{\frac{324}{4}  } +16       Simplify

A = 324 + 36√81 + 16         Simplify

A = 324 + 36(9) + 16           Simplify

A = 324 + 324 + 16             Simplify

A = 664 cm²
