The boys face a risk entering the world of discrimination. If these boys are to take chances or even change they have the probabilities of being compared to other people because of not who they are but of what people view them as. People are going to make the boys into what they are seeing instead and not living their innocent lives.

The USS Boston, a U.S. Battleship, sat in the Harbor making any Hawaiian resistance impossible. In 1895 Hawaii became an U.S. territory.
