Answer:

They connect us because usually urban legends are based off of ghosts or monsters. Fear is a universal thing for humans. A very common fear amongst humans is the fear of the unknown. So while many of us have our differences, we are connected by the fear that we truely don't know whats out there.

The development of new inventions in the field of space travel seemed rapid.
Alenkinab [10]
The correct answer is predicate adjective.
A predicate adjective is the first adjective found after a linking verb (used to link, or connect two parts of a sentence). In the sentence above, the linking verb is seemed and the first (and the only) adjective after it is the word rapid.
There are no objects in the sentence so B and D are incorrect, and given that rapid is an adjective rather than a noun, A is also incorrect.

Dmitry [639]

Answer:

Gray Stone Cliffs, and Sparkling clear spring

Explanation:

These describe the setting because the setting describe the place around him and the atmosphere here you can see he is near some gray stone cliffs with a sparkling clear spring nearby. Making this place sound calm and pretty, if he had said muddy brown spring with gray crumbling stone cliffs. It would have made the place sound old and gross rather than what it is.

patriot [66]

Answer:

In the opening sentence of the story the author states that "you were always a gambler" and you, "took chances." This shows that the main character is willing and able to take any and all risks necessary in order to escape slavery. This sets the tone for the type of person that the main character strives to be.
