Let the width = x
=>length = 2x-1

91= x(2x-1)=2x^2-x
2x^2-x-91=0
=(2x+13)(x-7)
=> x=-13/2=> no
=>x= 7 cm

Lisa's store collects 5% sales tax on every item sold if if she caused if she collected $22. In sales tax what was the cost of t
Advocard [28]
Im assuming the question is asking: if she collected $22 in sales tax what was the cost of the items her store sold.  you should make sure you type the question correctly otherwise it'll be hard to answer.

going with my assumption of what the question is, we want to find the total cost of all items her story sold.  let that cost be c. since there is 5% sales tax on everything and we know the sales tax is worth $22,m we have:

5%(c) = 22
dividing both sides by 5% (or .05) gives:
c = $440

Your cell phone plan is by the minute. each minute of use cost $0.10. create a relation that represents the amount spent, A, per
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

Talking 65 minutes, $ 6.50 must be paid.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since your cell phone plan is by the minute, and each minute of use cost $ 0.10, to create a relation that represents the amount spent, A, per minute, m, of call time, and then use the relation to find the amount spent if you talk 65 minutes, the following calculations must be performed:

0.10 x M = A

0.10 x 65 = A

6.50 = A

Thus, talking 65 minutes, $ 6.50 must be paid.

Of the 50 students in an undergraduate statistics class, 60% send email and/or text messages during any given lecture. They have
sasho [114]

Answer:

0.3 or 30%

Step-by-step explanation:

Since no innocent student will ever be caught, the probability that a student sends an email and/or text message during a lecture AND gets caught is given by the product of the probability of a student sending a message (60%) by the probability of the professor catching them (50%) :

P = 0.5*0.6 = 0.3

The probability is 0.3 or 30%.

If f(x) = 5x, what is f–1(x)?
Verdich [7]
We are given f(x) = 5x
and we are to find inverse of f(x).

Step 1:
Replace f(x) by y.
So,

y = 5x

Step 2:
Isolate x
So,

x = y/5

Step 3:
Replace x by f'(y)
So,

f'(y) = y/5

Step 4:
Replace all occurrences of y by x.
So,

f'(x) = x/5

Therefore, the inverse of f(x) = 5x is f'(x) = x/5

There is a bag with 50 popsicles inside. 5
Mkey [24]

Answer: \frac{6}{25}

In this case, we're asked to pick one of 12 blue popsicles out of a bag of 50 – from this, we can just write that the probability of picking a blue popsicle is 12/50. Simplifying this, we can divide both the numerator and denominator by 2 to get our final answer of  \frac{6}{25}

Hope this helped you!
