Answer:

Love emerges over time, arranged marriages might seem unfamiliar and strange to certain people, but they are actually fairly common around the world and have many individual and social benefits. The author explains that arranged marriages have many benefits to them like how arranged marriage usually has practical benefits as well. Parents will select a richer man for their daughter to marry to ensure her financial security and social standing. In many cultures, the right marriage can even raise the status of a whole family. Marriages can also be political actions, whether they further the family’s position in politics, establish political alliances for the future, or smooth over some past conflicts. Poverty sometimes necessitates an arranged marriage when the parents can no longer afford to care for their own daughter. Arranged marriage has many benefits to it.

Masteriza [31]

Answer:

d . he believes them to be sincere and good.

Explanation:

“A call for Unity” was written by eight white pastors who gave their opinions on Martin Luther King Jr. and his actions. They wrote that they essentially agreed with King’s causes, but not with the method of “extreme measurements”. They called King out as an “outsider” because he protested instead of taking the problem to the court.

King recognized their well-meaning attitude and the ways they agree with the ideas. This is why he said, at the end of the "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" he will take time to reply to them. He writes about how he feels their genuine goodwill and capability for understanding. Although he mentioned he does not have time for answering criticism usually, this recognition of the sincerity and good means made him change his principle.

Read the excerpt below and answer the question.
Andrews [41]

The answer is D: Have the courage to use your own understanding.

Immanuel Kant defined the age of Enlightenment in a short article titled, What is Enlightenment? In this text, Kant uses this phrase, which is Latin and literally translated means, dare to know, to express the idea that reason should stand on its own principles (the categories, in Kant´s philosophy) which do not derive from authority nor do they have a divine origin.
