The reason for this step is that this is what you do to move the center (-2, 2) to (0, 0).

Step 2  Multiply the new coordinates by 4.

Step 3 Move the new point left 2 units and up 2 units (x,\,y) \to (x-2,\,y+2).

Example:  using the upper-left corner (-3, 3)...

Step 1  (-3,\,3) \to (-1,\,1)

Step 2  (-1,\,1) \to (-4,\,4)

Step 3  (-4,\,4) \to (-6,\,6)

Repeat the process with the other three corners.
