First of all, I would approach the child and tell him/her not to believe what the adult just said. I will tell him/her that jumping rope is for kids like him/her and it's perfectly normal. Then, I would tell the adult respectfully that he/she shouldn't label things based on gender.

John and Jean work as typists in an office. John can type faster than Jean when someone dictates the matter to be typed. This is
BaLLatris [955]

Answer:

Reaction time

Explanation:

In psychology, the term reaction time refers to the amount of time it takes a person to respond to an stimulus. In other words it is the amount of time that passes between the moment the stimulus start and the moment the person reacts to the stimulus.

In this example someone dictates and John and Jean type. However, John types faster than Jean since John responds faster to auditory stimuli than Jean does. In other words, the amount of time that passes between the moment the words are dictated and the moment they start typing is larger in the case of Jean. Therefore, this illustrates the difference in John's and Jean's reaction times.
