Try drawing it. The parallelogram has a shorter diagonal from the two obtuse angles than the diagonal from the two acute angles.
The rhombus has the same property as the parallelogram.
The kite has a far longer diagonal from the angle enclosed by the two long sides going to the angle enclosed by the two shorter sides, than a line going from the angle enclosed by one shorter and one longer side to the other angle made the same way.
