Okay do first what you wanna do is combine common like terms in this case the common like terms are 2x and 4x and since 2x is a negative and 4x is a positive you would want to subtract which gets you 2x then you add 6 and 5 because they are both constants and they are both positive when you add it will get you 11 so it will be 2x +11

The scatterplot shows the distance (in feet) that a person was from a motion sensor during an experiment in math class. Use the
iragen [17]

Answer:

B.) 27ft

Step-by-step explanation:

The labeled points given: (5,18) and (1.5, 7.5)

Slope = (18 - 7.5)/(5-1.5) = 10.5 / 3.5 = 3

A linear model:

y - 18 = 3(x - 5)

y - 18 = 3x - 15

y = 3x + 3

If x = 8 seconds then the distance in feet (y) would be: (plug in x = 8 into the equation y = 3x + 3)

y = 3(8) + 3

y = 24 + 3

y = 27 ft

Answer:

B.) 27ft

Perform the indicated operations below and simplify ((a+b)/4) + ((2a-b)/5).
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

\frac{(a+b)}{4} +\frac{(2a-b)}{5}=\frac{13a}{20} +\frac{b}{20}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have:

\frac{(a+b)}{4} +\frac{(2a-b)}{5}

We can use <em>common denominator</em>.

Observation:

If you have, \frac{a}{b} +\frac{c}{d}=\frac{(a*d)+(c*b)}{b*d}

Then,

\frac{(a+b)}{4} +\frac{(2a-b)}{5}=\frac{5(a+b)+4(2a-b)}{4*5}

Using <em>distributive property</em>:

Observation:

c(a+b)=ca+cb

\frac{5(a+b)+4(2a-b)}{4*5}=\frac{5a+5b+8a-4b}{20}=\frac{(5a+8a)+(5b-4b)}{20}

Finally,

\frac{(5a+8a)+(5b-4b)}{20} =\frac{13a+b}{20}=\frac{13a}{20} +\frac{b}{20}

The answer then is:

\frac{(a+b)}{4} +\frac{(2a-b)}{5}=\frac{13a}{20} +\frac{b}{20}

School taxes for a local district are 2.5% of a household's income. The Smith household earns $80,000 per year. How much do the
pav-90 [236]
Percentage of school taxes that need to be paid for a local district = 2.5%
Amount of income made by the Smith Household per year= $80000
Amount of money paid by the Smith's per year as school taxes = (2.5/100) * 80000
                                                                                                     = 2.5 * 800
                                                                                                     = 2000 dollars
So $2000 is the amount that the Smith's household needs to pay as school taxes every year. I hope the procedure needs no further clarification and the answer is what you were looking for.
