Assuming electronic study and exam refers to online study and exam, the key advantage is both can be done outside of classroom. They can be done anywhere. It can also be done at any time that is convenient for students.
The key disadvantage is the lack of in-person interactions. It is not just student-teacher but student-student interactions as well. Another thing is that online study requires more than books - students must have laptop or tablet and also internet service in order to participate.
