Answer:
B. The children beg to play outside.
Explanation:
Anita Desai's short story "The Twilight Games" tells us about a group of children eagerly waiting for a sunset so they can come out and play. Bored and suffocated from spending the whole day inside, they beg their mother to let them out. Although they promised to stay in front of the house, on the veranda, until the sun completely sets, as soon as they got out, they start the game of hide and seek, running all over the neighborhood.
Having found a convenient place to hide, in the garage, the youngest boy, Ravi, is assured that he secured his win in the game.
However, he had stayed inside for too long, so when he finally came out, declaring victory, he found other children playing another game (acting out a funeral) completely forgetting about him.
Answer:
Ha, a twelve year old girl has to travel from Vietnam to Alabama due to a war in her country. Ha, her mother, her three brothers, and uncle have to travel in a boat that was very tight and stuffed with more people than it could handle. The boat ride was terrible. Ha and everyone else on the boat had to save their rations and was given a limited amount of food. Ha and her family got a sponsor in America and they were all taken to Alabama.
Alabama was much more different than Vietnam. The food was very different and the ettiquite was much less strict. Ha was bullied a lot in school. People called her name and made fun of the way she looked. Eventually, the bullying calmed down after her brother helped her escape a very mean bully who tried to harm Ha. A few years ago, Has father was taken from her family and was never seen again. Ha and her family hoped he would return but he never came back. Everyone in Has family finally excepted that he is gone and won’t be returning.
Explanation:
I hope this helped I read the book a few years ago. You can change up some words and add stuff but here’s some main points.
"Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man's heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy."
I'd say this quote is meaningful in a sense that Ralph wanted to bring an end to innocence and the darkness that dwells in one's heart. "and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy." I think this line means that he also wanted true and honest people to fall, being call "wise friend called piggy" I think means that when he is "wise" this isn't meant to be taken seriously. This is a sarcastic wkrd to describe him, for he is in fact not wise, because he wants to basically bring the end to all good that would come to man. I also chose (C) Connect because I have connected the meaning of the quote to the reader.
The correct answer of the given question above would be the last option. The author's choice of words affects the tone of the excerpt in a way that the words candor and legacy impart a complimentary tone. Candor means being open or honest. And these two words impart a flattering tone.
