Answer:

The equations that are true are

B

C

E

Step-by-step explanation:

A) States that 0 + 451 = 0, but that is not true because...

    0 + 451 = 451

B) States that 130 + 210 = 210 + 130, and that is true because...

    130 + 210 = 210 + 130

    340 = 340

C) States that (127 + 80) + 250 = 127 + (80 + 250), and it is true because...

    (127 + 80) + 250 = 127 + (80 + 250)

    127 + 80 + 250 = 127 + 80 + 250

    457 = 457

D) States that (123 + 57) + 180 = 153 + (87 + 180), but that is not true because...

    (123 + 57) + 180 = 153 + (87 + 180)

    123 + 57 + 180 = 153 + 87 + 180

    360 = 420 (but this does not make sence)

E) States that 497 + 0 = 497, and it is true because...

    497 + 0 = 497

    497 = 497

An automobile manufacturer claims that its car has a 33.7 miles/gallon (MPG) rating. An independent testing firm has been contra
Gnoma [55]

Answer:

z=\frac{34-33.7}{\frac{1.6}{\sqrt{120}}}=2.05

And the p value would be given by:

p_v= 2*P(z>2.05) = 0.0404

And since the p value is higher than the significance level we have enough evidence to fail to reject the null hypothesis.

Step-by-step explanation:

Data given and notation

\bar X=34 represent the sample mean

\sigma=\sqrt{2.56}= 1.6 represent the population standard deviation

n=120 sample size

\mu_o =33.7 represent the value that we want to test

\alpha=0.02 represent the significance level for the hypothesis test.

z would represent the statistic (variable of interest)

p_v represent the p value for the test (variable of interest)

System of hypotheses.

We need to conduct a hypothesis in order to check if the true mean is 33.7 mpg or no, the system of hypothesis would be:

Null hypothesis:\mu =33.7

Alternative hypothesis:\mu \neq 33.7

Since we know the population deviation, is better apply a z test to compare the actual mean to the reference value, and the statistic is given by:

z=\frac{\bar X-\mu_o}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}} (1)

Calculate the statistic

We can replace in formula (1) the info given like this:

z=\frac{34-33.7}{\frac{1.6}{\sqrt{120}}}=2.05

And the p value would be given by:

p_v= 2*P(z>2.05) = 0.0404

And since the p value is higher than the significance level we have enough evidence to fail to reject the null hypothesis.

So I am doing geometry in my math class, and I can't figure how how to do some of the problems.We have angles and you have to fi
Marianna [84]
Ok, so in the problem there are 5 angles given but you really only need to focus on <KNL and <MNL. these two angles are a linear pair, or supplementary, which means that they add up to 180˚. so, if <KNL is 38˚, then <MNL is 142˚. 180-38=142

hope this helped

At a grocery store, blueberries come packaged in 8-ounce containers for $2.80. At a farmer's market, blueberries cost $4.20 for
Dmitry [639]
Given:
Grocery store: 8 ounces of blueberries = $2.80
Farmer's market : 14 ounces of blueberries = $4.20
1 pound = 16 ounces.

Unit rate: per ounce
Grocery store:      $2.80 ÷ 8 oz = $0.35 per ounce
Farmer's market: $4.20 ÷ 14 oz  = $0.30 per ounce

Unit rate per pound
Grocery store:      $0.35 per ounce * 16 ounces = $5.60 per pound
Farmer's market: $0.30 per ounce * 16 ounces = $4.80 per pound
