Any sort of surgery which involves going inside the skull. Brain surgery qualifies but there are other types also.

It's a surgery used for tumors, trauma, congenital abnormalities, vascular disease, trigeminal neuralgia & other disorders of the brain that are open and responsive to the treatment. :)
