The answer should be "astronomy". Brahmagupta was born in northwestern India in 598 CE. Very little is known about his early life, but like most mathematicians of that time in India, his work was deeply rooted in astronomy. As a young adult, he developed a talent for using mathematics to solve cosmic problems. By the age of thirty, he was a court astronomer to the king.

Brahmagupta became the head of India’s first observatory, located in the city of Ujjain. There, he used numbers and patterns to investigate the planets and stars. He wrote all of his findings in two books on astronomy and mathematics, Brāhmasphuṭasiddhānta and Khandakhadyaka. Hope this helps. Thanks!

In ΔFGH, the measure of ∠H=90°, the measure of ∠G=75°, and FG = 24 feet. Find the length of HF to the nearest tenth of a foot.
chubhunter [2.5K]

Answer:

HF ≈ 23.2 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the sine ratio in the right triangle.

sin75° = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} = \frac{HF}{FG} = \frac{HF}{24}

Multiply both sides by 24

24 × sin75° = HF , thus

HF ≈ 23.2 ft ( to the nearest tenth )

You make a table to use as a quick reference guide . y = - 180 - 9(x) . Use the table tool to answer the question:
Flauer [41]

The value of y when x equals -15 in the equation (y = - 180 - 9(x)) is -45.

Copy and complete the table for x and y?

In a given function y = f(x) = bx - c, the value of y can be determined, if the value of x is known. All we have to do is to substitute the known value for x into the equation in order to determine the value of y.

From the given information:

y = - 180 - 9(x)

 • So, when x = -15

y = -180 - 9(-15)

y = -180 + 135

y = -45
