Answer:

Girl, I have the same question. I'm not 100% sure that this is correct but I personally think the answer is C

Explanation:

I say this because in the story, The author was saying really deep things about their friends, for example, it says "Your friends won’t try to talk you out of the barrel,

or your brag to go first, which has nothing to do with bravery.

And you’re so hungry to earn their love you forget

to claim first your, perhaps, last look at this mountain—

crab apples hanging sour in the sun"

I hope this is the correct answer!

Answer:

A. When two clauses are joined by a semicolon, they can usually be separated into two sentences.

Explanation:

A semicolon (;) is used to join  two independent sentences into one written sentence. This semicolon is used when the two sentences are seen to be closely related to be separated by the use of a full stop. Also, it is used when there is no connecting word that require the use of comma.

But in actual sense, a semicolon can be replaced by a full stop thereby forming two different sentences.

The two clauses joined by a semicolon can be separated into two sentences.

How does Ulysses display characteristics of an epic hero in his encounter with the Cyclops? Describe Ulysses’s behavior and supp
Ede4ka [16]

While on the island of the Cyclops, Ulysses decides to stay because he is curious about the people who live there. He hopes to enjoy the hospitality of the island's inhabitants. Ulysses’s decision puts his men in danger when they are confronted by Polyphemus, who traps them in his cave and eats two of the men. Greed and pride drive Ulysses’s choices. Ulysses wants to enjoy the spoils of the island, and he believes that his reputation as a great warrior ensures that the people living on the island will welcome him. While he leads the men out of the cave, he lets his pride endanger the group one more time. While leaving the island, he shouts out his own name to Polyphemus to let him know that he, “Ulysses,” is the one who has blinded him. Now knowing the real identity of his attacker, the Cyclops pleads with his father, Neptune, the god of the seas, to punish Ulysses.

In the story of the Cyclops, Ulysses comes across as a clever leader and a brave hero who saves his men using his intelligence. However, he also shows his mortal failings in his desire for fame and glory, which puts him and his men in trouble at sea.
