Answer:

Explanation:

Ross Perot was a real thorn in the side of the Republicans. He split off a number of votes who would have otherwise gone Republican. He was way ahead of his time where no one thought seriously about balancing the budget. He was also ahead of his time for Campaign reform. Last year, the election costs in the United States amounted to 14 billion. Can you even begin to imagine such a thing?  Who even remembers Ross Perot?

Answer: Platform for campaign reform and a balanced budget.

Ralph Nader: Here's another man that was ahead of his time. I fail to see why Americans are glued to the two party system. I cannot think of anything that has contributed more to the downfall of the American political system than the 2 party system. In Canada, where I live, there are 5 parties in our parliament. Five. Look it up. Are we afraid of so many diverse opinions? No! We even have one party (Parti Quebecois) whose main platform is the break Quebec away from the rest of Canada.  Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. America could learn much from Canada.

Platform: consumer protection and a clean environment.

What was one way the economy changed in the colonies during the 1700s?
joja [24]

Answer:

C. Britain stopped exporting goods to the Americas.

Explanation:

There was a great development of an autonomous economy of the colonies, mercantile and manufacturing.

A region formed by the colonies of Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Georgia, the Southern Thirteen Colonies was marked by agricultural production in a plantation system: monoculture worked by slave labor on large estates and intended for sale on the European market. There was a distinct settlement logic in this region, in the face of slave labor and agricultural production of tobacco, cotton, rice and indigo (indigo) for Europe.

Thus, the colonies began to have economic autonomy of production of goods, no longer needing to import consumer goods.

The 1755 earthquake in Lisbon was a prominent event in Voltaire’s Candide.
lawyer [7]
Voltaire thought the earthquake had a very different lesson, namely that nature can be capricious and does not respect human life. If there were to be a happier, more prosperous, and more just world, it would have to be one created by human activity.

The earthquake in Candide is based on a real earthquake that leveled the city of Lisbon in 1755. Before writing Candide, Voltaire wrote a long poem about that event, which he interpreted as a sign of God's indifference or even cruelty toward humanity.
