Answer:

x = 12

A = 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we want to solve for the value of x

The angle at the top of the triangle is 8x + 4

The reason for this is because vertically opposite angles are equal

Mathematically;

8x + 4 + 3x - 6 = 130

The reason for this is that opposite interior angles equal the exterior angle

Thus;

8x + 3x + 4- 6 = 130

11x -2 = 130

11x = 130 + 2

11x = 132

x = 132/11

x = 12

The value of A is 3x - 6

A = 3(12)-6

A = 36-6

A = 30

Twice the sum of a number and 77 is equal to three times the difference of the number and 6.  Find the number
tino4ka555 [31]

x + 77 = 3(x - 6)

x + 77 = 3x - 18

x + 77 + 18 = 3x - 18 + 18

x + 95 = 3x

x + 95 - x = 3x - x

95 = 2x

x = 95/2

x = 47.5

Are perfect squares closed under subtraction
Iteru [2.4K]

Answer:

  no

Step-by-step explanation:

The set of perfect squares includes {0, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, ...}.

Subtracting a couple of the elements, we get ...

  4 - 1 = 3 . . . . not a member of the set

The set is NOT CLOSED under subtraction.
