Answer:

$5.61

Step-by-step explanation:

Since David only has $9.39 but he needs $15.00 for his purchase. So, you would subtract the $9.39 from the $15.00 to see how much more money David needs to make this purchase.

15.00 - 9.39

When you carry out this problem, it equals $5.61.

Therefore, David needs $5.61 to be able to complete his purchase

The rate of change is -5/4

I find it best to use the Slope formula
M= y2-y1/x2-x1

So we to use need any 2 points on the graph (I used the first 2)
•(0,200) and (80,100)

Now we set up the problem 100-200/80-0
Then you’ll subtract and should get
-100/80
Now you’ll simplify and once you’re done simplifying your answer should be -5/4.

Here is my work. Hope this Helps!

The expression in scientific notation is given as follows:

3.5 x 10³.

<h3>What is scientific notation?</h3>

A number in scientific notation is given by:

a \times 10^b

With the base being a \in [1, 10).

For this problem, the expression is given by:

\frac{5 \times 10^2 \times 4.2 \times 10^4}{6 \times 10^3}

When two factors of a multiplication have the same base and different exponent, we <u>keep the base and add the exponents,</u> hence:

10^2 \times 10^4 = 10^6

5 x 4.2 = 21, hence the expression is:

\frac{5 \times 10^2 \times 4.2 \times 10^4}{6 \times 10^3} = \frac{21 \times 10^6}{6 \times 10^3}

When we divide two terms with the same base and different exponents, we keep the base and subtract the exponents, hence:

\frac{21 \times 10^6}{6 \times 10^3} = 3.5 \times 10^3

Which is the simplified expression.
