Answer:

.19

Explanation:

19 divided by 100 in decimal form would be .19 because 1 is in the tenths place and 9 is in the ones, when you move the nine back one you get 1.9 but you don't stop there because that's 19 divided by 10, not 100. So you go back another number making it .19 and that would be 19 divided by 100. So your answer is .19

Answer: 0.19

Explanation: To write 19/100 as a decimal, it's important to understand that the hundredths place is 2 places to the right of the decimal point so 19/100 can be written as the decimal 0<em>.</em>19.

Notice that we put the last digit of 19 in the hundredths place.

Town of Sad

I'm walking the sidewalk,
in the middle of town.
My head is quite heavy,
it's pointing straight down.

I do not wish,
to look straight ahead.
My body and mind,
just feels beyond dead.

An intersection,
I finally reach,
Where I'm welcomed,
with a horrible screech.

Right or left,
I'm asked to choose.
But I continue along the sidewalk,
change I refuse.

My sidewalk is covered,
with sorrow an dirt.
I'm loyal to this street,
it's simply called hurt.

As I continue,
my pain sadly grows.
The shoes I'm wearing,
are called blue woes.

There seems like there's no end,
or slight hope in sight.
This lonely town,
forever has night.

It's just so difficult,
for me to leave.
As I raise my head,
I cannot believe.

A rusty sign,
with the name of the town.
It reads, "Sad",
and it's pointing straight down.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Remember, in the story, we are told that Ernesto and his family lived in a small mountain village. In fact, here's a quote from the opening lines of chapter one, Ernesto Galarza recounts,<em> "Unlike people who are born in hospitals, in an ambulance, or in a taxicab, I showed up in an adobe cottage with a thatched roof that stood at one end of the only street of Jalcocotán, which everybody called Jalco for short. </em><em>Like many other small villages</em><em> in the wild.."</em>

His statements show a contrast with the kind of economic system they later discovered in America, because unlike in Mexico where they were mainly involved in farming their life in America involved finding a different source of income.
