It is true that it can be difficult to remain motivated unless you experience success from time to time.
Imagine the situation where you are trying so hard to learn to do something but ultimately you fail all the time, with no success whatsoever. You are likely to feel discouraged by your failures and think that you cannot do it at all - which is why you might lose your motivation to continue trying.
