Answer:

The weight of :

Large plates = x = 25 pounds

Small plates = y = 10 pounds.

Step-by-step explanation:

Jason and Jerry are competing at a weightlifting competition.

Let us represent the weight of

Large plates = x

Small plates = y

They are both lifting barbells containing 200 pounds of plates. Jason's barbell has 4 large and 10 small plates on it.

4x + 10y = 200.... Equation 1

Jerry's barbell has 6 large and 5 small plates on it.

6x + 5y = 200..... Equation 2

Combining Equations

4x + 10y = 200.... Equation 1

6x + 5y = 200..... Equation 2

We solve using Elimination method

Multiply Equation 1 by 6 and Equation 2 by 4 to eliminate x

24x + 60y = 1200..... Equation 3

24x + 20y = 800.... Equation 4

Subtract Equation 4 from Equation 3

40y = 400

y = 400/40

y = 10 pounds

Solving for x using Equation 1

4x + 10y = 200.... Equation 1

4x + 10(10) = 200

4x + 100 = 200

4x = 200-100

4x = 100

x = 100/4

x = 25 pounds

Therefore, the weight of

Large plates = x = 25 pounds

Small plates = y = 10 pounds.

Polygon pqrs is a scaled copy of abcd. name the angel in the scaled copy that corresponds to angle abc.
Olin [163]

The angel in the scaled copy that corresponds to angle abc in the polygon pqrs which is a scaled copy of abcd will be angle pqr.

We have,

As we can see the attached figure,

Scale factor : Scale Factor is the ratio of size of new image formed to the size of old image and the image obtained is the scaled copy.

i.e.,

Scale factor = \frac{Change\ in\ size}{Original\ size}

So,

There are two Polygons abcd and pqrs,

And,

Polygon pqrs is the scaled copy of Polygon abcd,

So,

That means both polygons are similar,

so,

Their corresponding angles will be same,

So

We can say that angle corresponds to angle abc is angle pqr.

Hence, we can say that the angel in the scaled copy that corresponds to angle abc in the polygon pqrs which is a scaled copy of abcd will be angle pqr.

What is the approximate solution to this equation? x³ = 27.55
worty [1.4K]

Answer: 3

Explanation:

Since we’re finding a cube root, the closest cube root to 27.55 is 27. Since 3 cubed is 27, the cube root of 27.55 is about 3

F + g = 23
f+g-g=23-g
f = 23-g
f + 2g =34
23-g+2g=34
23+g=34
23-23+g=34-23
g = 11

f + g = 23
f + 11 = 23
f +11-11 =23-11
f = 12

Check
f + 2g =34
12 + 2(11) =34
12 + 22 = 34
 34=34

She made 11 free throws and 12 field goals

Subtract:<br> 7' 5" – 2' 8" =
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer:

4'9"

Method 1:

First, convert both numbers into inches. Remember that 1' = 12", and the rest is like a remainder.

7'5" = (7*12)+5 = 84+5 = 89

2'8" = (2*12)+8 = 24+8 = 32

Next, subtract the two numbers.

89 - 32 = ?

89 - 32 = 57

There's your answer! You can change it back into feet by dividing it by 12.

57 / 12 = 4.75 = 4'9"

Method 2:

Another way of solving this problem is to borrow from the "feet" place.

7'5" - 2'8"

You can't take 8 away from 5, so you borrow from the "feet" place. Remember that unlike normal borrowing, you need to add 12 instead of adding 10.

6'17" - 2'8" = 4'9"

Whichever method you choose, you should get the same answer!
