When dry sand and water are both exposed to equal amounts of light, you will find that water is cooler than sand.
This is because the amount of heat needed to heat the water is less than that needed to heat sand, thus, sand heats faster.

Why is helot important
Masja [62]

The Helots were Greeks that had been captured and enslaved by Spartans. The Helots performed many important duties in Sparta, including working on the land to produce food.

The Helots were incredibly important in the social structure of the Spartan society, because each Spartan householder needed to contribute a certain amount of food for the messes, and without the Helots tilling and taking care of the land, this could not be possible.

But the Helots were considered as the lowest class in the society and kept under constant watch.

The sun hits bodies of water (ponds, oceans, pools, puddles) and it evaporates into a gas known as water vapor which goes up and forms a cloud. When the cloud gets heavy the water condensates back into little droplets and falls back to the ground. This is rain.
