Polydactyly is a trait found in cats and humans in which a person (or cat) has 6 digits per
ad-work [718]

Answer:

1/2 or 50%

Explanation:

This question involves a single gene coding for the number of digits per paw in cats or humans. The allele for polydactyly i.e six digits (P) is dominant over the allele for normal number of digits i.e 5 (p).

According to this question, If a man who is heterozygous (Pp) for this trait marries a woman with 5 fingers (pp), the following gametes will be produced by each parent:

Pp : P and p

pp : p and p

Using these gametes in a punnet square (see attached image), the following proportion of offsprings will be produced:

Pp, Pp, pp and pp

The offsprings with genotype Pp will have polydactyl, hence, the chances that they will have a child with polydactyly is 1/2 or 50%.

Sometimes competition among members of the same population occurs only during stressful conditions.
jasenka [17]
The correct answer to this question is for a fact true!

When and why this happens is because the members of that population get desperate (like limited supply of food, water, mates, or even habitats) so at that point of the situation all the creatures of that population are so desperate that they are willing to do everything and anything to survive. And then it becomes competition. That's one of the things that these 2 phrases are used for mainly:
  "Every man is for himself"
   "Survival for the fittest"

That is the answer to your question! If you need help with any other questions, just let me know and i will do my best to help you!

Hope this helps!! :-)

A newly discovered gene has two aleles a and a scientists hypothesize that the alleles show incomplete dominance
tatiyna
If scientists believe that the newly discovered gene has two alleles A and a and that the alleles show incomplete dominance, the best way to prove this is to look for subjects who are homozygous with respect to the different alleles. The offsprings will all have the genotype of Aa and if indeed, the alleles show incomplete the dominance, the traits of the first generation will not manifest completely but a mixture of two will.
