Points and their residual values are shown in the table. Which point is farthest from the line of best fit?
vredina [299]

Answer:

(3,6.2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Residual value the difference between the observed value of the dependent variable and the predicted value is called the residual.

Residual , R=O-P, where R is the residual value, O, is the observed value, and P is the predicted value. The sum and the mean of the residuals are equal to zero.

Now, we can see that the biggest <em>magnitude </em>of the difference is of -1.1 and -1.1 is at the point (3,6.2).  (\left | -1.1 \right |=1.1)

Therefore, the point farthest from the line of best fit is the one whose magnitude of residual value is the most and in this case that point is (3,6.2).

What is the answer to this?
fredd [130]

Answer:

y = 3, TU = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

SU is an angle bisector and divides the opposite side into segments that are proportional to the other 2 sides, that is

\frac{SV}{ST} = \frac{VU}{TU} , substitute values

\frac{24}{4y-2} = \frac{14.4}{2y} ( cross- multiply )

14.4(4y - 2) = 48y

57.6y - 28.8 = 48y ( subtract 48y from both sides )

9.6y - 28.8 = 0 ( add 28.8 to both sides )

9.6y = 28.8 ( divide both sides by 9.6 )

y = 3

Then

TU = 2y = 2 × 3 = 6

if jk has endpoints j(-2,3) and k(6,5), and ln has endpoints l(0,7) and n(4,1), then jk and ln have the same midpoint.
tankabanditka [31]
Ok well, not technically yes, but jk's midpoint is (1,5) and ln is (5,3). So they're not the same. In this case in my opinion, it's no.
