Distribute the -5 to 2x and -4 which would be: -10x+20=2(x-8)
Then distribute the 2 to x and -8 which would be: -10x+20=2x-16
Subtract 20 from both sides:-10x+20=2x-16
-20. -20
10x= 2x-36
Subtract 2x from both sides: -10x=2x-36
-2x. -2x
-12x=-36
Divide -12 from both sides: -12x=-36
-12/-12= -36/-12
So in the end x=3

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

−5(2)(−4)=2(x−8)

Simplify both sides of the equation.

−5(2)(−4)=2(x−8)

−5(2)(−4)=(2)(x)+(2)(−8)(Distribute)

40=2x+−16

40=2x−16

Step 2: Flip the equation.

2x−16=40

Step 3: Add 16 to both sides.

2x−16+16=40+16

2x=56

Step 4: Divide both sides by 2.

2x/2 = 56/2

x=28

What is the estimate of the sum of 125, 123, 392 and 294 using front end estimation?
kipiarov [429]
Front end estimation for this question would be to the nearest hundred. So 125 rounded to the nearest hundred is 100, 123 to the nearest hundred is 100, 392 to the nearest hundred is 400, and 294 to the nearest hundred is 300. Adding 100 + 100 + 400 + 300 would be 900.

Hope this helps!

6x-9-2(1-x)=X+9 solve this
Kay [80]
 • Answer:

x = 20/7

x = 2 6/7

 • Step-by-step explanation:

Hi there !

6x - 9 - 2(1 - x) = x + 9

6x - 9 - 2 + 2x = x + 9

6x + 2x - x = 9 + 9 + 2

8x - x = 20

7x = 20

x = 20/7

x = 2 6/7

This table shows how many students from two high schools attended a
nalin [4]

Answer:

C. 0.60

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find out a couple things first:

 1. How many students are from Westville?
 2. How many students did not attend the game that are from Westville?

We need to find specifically Westville, because we don't want to accidentally pick someone from North Beach who attended.

So let's look:

 1. Total from Westville: 150
 2. Total who did not attend from Westville: 90

Now in order to find a probability, we need to divide the smaller number from the biggest number. Let's do that:

90/150 = 0.6

And for this question, we specifically have to round to two decimal places. In order to do this, we just write the extra 0 at the end:

0.6 = 0.60

Look at that, 0.60 is one of our answers! :D
