B) Striking workers in Poland started the Poznan uprising. The Poznan protests, which took place in 1956, were several massive protests against the government of Poland, for workers to receive better job conditions, however the government met this with violent repression.
Back then, the African American communities still hasn't fully integrated within the US society and they see world war I as an opportunity to prove their patriotism. Over 2.5 million African American served as military personnel and workers during that time.
But still, they are still not allowed to held any form important military position within the war and often discriminated by other soldiers.

The excerpt shows or rather suggests that Zeitoun's business s coming together slowly again, gaining ground and on the process of becoming what it used to be. The rebuilding process of the city of New Orleans after the hurricane had provided a platform for his business to be active, bringing it back on its feet.
