It seems that the boy uses everyday language in order to describe what he sees and smells. By resorting to this, the reader gets the perspective of a young boy from a poor social class because the imaginary used is based on elements that he might see on daily bases, smells like the cat or somthing roaten are really common in the streets.

“You must be the change you wish to see in this world.”
it means that it only takes one person to cause a chain reaction to change the way the world is. it means if you don't like what you see you have to change it for yourself. How can this statement be applied to the lives of both Gandhi and Marshall? it can be applied to both their lives by first Marshall he is talking about racial issues. He has to be the one to get people to see things differently. He has to get the word out to others and educate the people on the situation. as for Gandhi he was teaching peace he was the one that was trying to get peace he was making a change in others and educating them.

Eassy on important of English language
Inessa [10]

Answer:

Speaking English is a good language to know especially in America. If you don't know English and you are moving from a foreign country, I recommend you learn English. If you don't know English school and communication would be much harder for you. Its always good to learn the basics of English and then practicing some more. You will still get to speak your language, but when outside or a place where the majority of people speak english you should learn. Different languages and English are important languages to learn, so others can understand you better.

Hope this helps
