The right answer is D.

The origin of replication (also called "ori") is a unique DNA sequence that allows the initiation of replication. It is from this sequence that unidirectional or bidirectional replication begins.

Prokaryotes have a single circular DNA molecule and therefore usually only one origin of replication. Depending on the Archaea species, there may be one or more origins of replication by replicon1. Eukaryotes have multiple origins of replication on each chromosome.

The origin of replication of Escherichia coli is known as oriC and extends over 245 base pairs (bp). It contains upstream of a 13 bp sequence (GATCTNTTNTTTT) repeated three times, and further downstream, four 9 bp (9mer) sequences that are in either orientation. Proteins, called DnaA, will bind to the repeated 9 bp sequences. The DNA will then wrap around the protein complex of DnaA. This conformational change in DNA results in the opening of the DNA double helix at the adenine and thymine-rich 13 bp repeat which allows enzymes and other factors to bind to dissociated strands and start replication.

Under which circumstances should we try to control the population numbers of Pfiesteria?
zvonat [6]

Answer:

Pfiesteria species generally found in estuaries, the population of which are needed to be controlled only when they becomes toxic. Presence of large of fish triggers toxicity in Pfiesteria.

Explanation:

Pfiesteria are known to be associated with fish kills as for example large fish kill in the seas of North Carolina. It also causes blooming of algae in enormous numbers thus make the water bodies, hostile for survival of fishes and other marine lives. It affects human too by release of toxins in air and water often resulting in respiratory problems, infections of gastrointestinal system, headaches and fatigue. In this type of grave circumstances, leading to outburst of population of Pfiesteria, there is an urgent need to control.

Animals and most microorganisms are classified as chemoorganoheterotrophs. The prefixes "chemo," "organo," and "hetero" refer to
7nadin3 [17]

Answer: Option A.

Electrons,carbon and energy.

Explanation:

Chemorganoheterotrophs are organisms that uses organic substrates to produce carbon needed for their growth and development. They derive their energy from oxidation and reduction of organic substances. The use the reduced carbon produced by autrotophs as as source of electrons, carbon and energy. Example is fungi that uses carbon as electron donor and source for carbon and energy.

The original source of ALL energy for living organisms is ___________, while the most direct, useable source of energy to be use
denpristay [2]

The correct answer is option C

The original source of energy is the sun while most of the energy in the organisms is used in the form of energy. The energy from the sun is used by the green plants to make food by the process of photosynthesis and this food is used by the human beings and animals. The energy in animals and human is in the form of ATP.
