Answer:
x = -9

Explanation:

(3x + 9)^5 = 32x^5

(3 (x + 3))^5 = 32x^5

3^5 (x + 3)^5 = 32x^5

243(x + 3)^5 = 32x^5

243(x + 3)^5 - 32x^5 = 0

x = -9

Why did John C. Frémont initially settle in the Salinas Valley before marching north, only to march south to San Francisco?
Nimfa-mama [501]

John C. Frémont settled in Salinas to accompany the annexation of California and then went south to support John D. Sloat.

John Charles Frémont (1813 - 1890) was an American military man who stood out for participating in the annexation of California to the United States and for being the first candidate for the presidency of the United States presented by the Republican Party in its history.

The process for the annexation of California to the United States began in December 1845 when John Frémont entered the Mexican province of Alta California (State of California) accompanied by 60 men under his command.

This incursion had the endorsement of the Mexican authorities because the Americans had argued that they were going with the intention of making a scientific and topographical expedition.

However, Frémont was in charge of encouraging and advising American citizens living in that territory to separate from Mexico to become part of the United States.

This incursion caused the crisis in this region to begin in 1846 because the citizens of this region wanted to become independent from Mexico. Subsequently, on June 14, 1846, the Republic of California was declared, and 25 days later they were annexed to the United States Government.

At that time Fremont was established in the Salinas Valley. Once he learned that he had support in the city of Monterrey (further south of Valle de Salinas) he went there and put himself at the disposal of John D. Sloat but he rejected it.

What does the Eighth Amendment prohibit?
strojnjashka [21]

Answer

The Eighth Amendment  prohibits the federal government from imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments.

Explanation

The Eighth Amendment was adopted, as part of the Bill of Rights, in 1791.

The Eighth Amendment of the Constitution states: 'Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.' The amendment is meant to safeguard Americans against excessive punishments. This provision was written in because of a case where a man named Titus Oates lied and caused many innocent people because of it.

Some scientists think the first migrants to the Americas came by boat.

Some scientists think the first migrants to the Americas came by crossing a land bridge.

Most scientists believe the first migrants came to North America from Asia.

Explanation:

In the past century there has been a consensus about the migration of people to the Americas. It was commonly accepted that the first humans in the Americas came at the end of the last Ice Age. The hypothesis says that they came by a land bridge that existed between North America and Eurasia, and that their origin was from what is now Siberia, or rather from central and eastern North Asia. This has been and still is the most accepted hypothesis.

In the past couple of decades though the view on this hypothesis started to change. Lot of new evidence emerged that suggest that this hypothesis is flawed so more and more scientist are not supporting it.

There has been new sites where remains of human activities have been found and they predate what was suggested by tens of thousands of years. The genetic studies are suggesting that there are groups of people that originated from Polynesia and from Northern Europe. In Mesoamerica and in the Amazon there are multiple groups of people that have Polynesia genes, while some Native Americans in the eastern part of North America have European genes. This means that people migrated not just from Asia, but also from Northern Europe (by a boat or through a land bridge), and by a boat though the Pacific Ocean.
