Answer:

(3;0)

(0;15)

y=-5x+15

Step-by-step explanation:

x-intercept

-5x–0=-15

-5x=-15

-5x/-5=-15/-5

x=3 》》(3;0)

y-intercept

-5(0)-y=-15

y=15 》》 (0;15)

slope intercept form

y=mx+b

m=Y2–Y1/X2–X1

=15–0/0–3

=15/-3

=-5

evalute (0;15) & m=-5 in y=mx+b

15=-5(0)+b

15=b

so

y=-5x+15

An animal group adopted out 1,526 cats last year. this year, they found homes for 1,214 cats. what is the percent decrease in th
Lerok [7]

Answer: 20.4% decrease

Step-by-step explanation:

First, find how many fewer cats were adopted out this year: 1,526 - 1214 = 312.

Now, find what percent of 1,526 312 is: 1,526 * x = 312 → x = .204 * 100 = 20.4% :)

How do I find the discriminant of a quadratic equation?
Gemiola [76]

The discriminant is the bit under the radical, the b^2-4ac.

Because it's under a radical, it's what tells you how many and what kind of solutions you have (two real, one real, or two imaginary/complex solutions).

Does that answer your question?  Or do you need an example?

Suppose you had the equation 3x^2-7x+1 = 0, then you'd have:

    a=3, b=-7, and c=1

You'd plug those values into b^2-4ac to see if the discriminant was positive, zero, or negative:

    \begin{aligned}b^2-4ac &= (-7)^2-4(3)(1) \\&= 49 - 12 \\&= 37\endaligned}

Since that is 37 (a postiive number), you'd have two real solutions.
