what shared topic can be found in the compared text? to my dear and loving husband and love song, with two goldfish
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

C. An exploration of how love changes over time.

Explanation:

In the poem "To My Dear and Loving Husband", the poet Anne Bradstreet talks about the love she has for her husband. She delves into the long-lasting and deep feeling she has with her husband. And she wished that their love stays the same forever, <em>"that when we live no more we may live ever". </em>

On the other hand, Grace Chua's poem "Love Song, With Two Goldfish" reveals the short love of the two fishes. The female fish is not happy with her partner, who is unable to give <em>"a life beyond the (bowl)".</em> Though she may have been in love with him before, but now, her love has gone <em>"belly-up".</em>

These two poems deals with the same theme of the exploration of how love changes over a period of time.

In what way(s) was Elizabethan culture similar to modern American culture?
klio [65]

Answer:

<em>The period in which Queen Elizabeth I ruled over England is called Elizabethan Era.</em> This period is famous for its interesting and new cultures, traditions, inventions etc.

During this era a great deal of stress was made on education for boys and girls of upper-class families, this was a huge similarity between Elizabethan culture and American culture up until the civil rights movement, the dynamics of education given to the general public completely changed. Along with this, the emphasis on respecting parents, table manners, initial education of a child at home are some of the major similarities between the two.

When it comes to items of daily use we will find plenty of similar things like telescope, pocket watch, bottled beer, thermometer, frozen chicken etc. But only these are now made more perfect and advanced.

Another huge similarity which still exists today is littering of streets and infestation of rodents or fleas everywhere.

Also people of different social statuses were seen eating different things which is a culture we see till today. Lower and middle class people are deprived of many healthy fruits, nuts etc.

Answer:

The question to be asked while reading a text is that 'What is the author's purpose in writing this text'?

Option (c);

EXPLANATION:

Reading is a very important approach to enhance one's comprehension skills. The most appropriate question to ask while reading a text is to understand the purpose of the author to write that text. Option A suggests how can one remember a text, which is not one's motive of reading.

Options B and D are also incorrect as they only aim at reading the text and not understating and enhancing one's comprehension skills. To improve the skills, while reading one should try to understand the purpose of the author to write the text.

Zachariah led a mutiny against captain Jaggery because he thought that the captain was a gentleman and trustworthy but he did not turn out to be trustworthy and cheated.

Explanation:

According to Zachariah and Charlotte, captain Jaggery was a trust worthy man. Both of them thought that he was a gentleman and could be trusted very easily. But to their surprise, captain Jaggery turned out to be completely opposite of both of them thought the captain to be.

Captain Jaggery was not a gentleman at all and not at all trust worthy. He had deceived every one and that was the reason why Zachariah had led a mutiny against him and he said that the rebellion was totally justified which was against the captain.
