Answer:

When an enzyme binds its substrate, it forms an enzyme-substrate complex. This complex lowers the activation energy of the reaction and promotes its rapid progression by providing certain ions or chemical groups that actually form covalent bonds with molecules as a necessary step of the reaction process

hope this helps

Answer:

Enzymes bind with chemical reactants called substrates there may be one or more substrates for each type of enzyme I beleivedepending on the particular chemical reaction. In some reactions, a single-reactant substrate is broken down into multiple products the enzyme's active site binds to the substrate.

Mendel’s law of segregation, as applied to the behavior of chromosomes in meiosis, means that:
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

b.Allele of a gene separate from each other when homologs separate in meiosis I or in meiosis II if there is a single crossover between the gene and the centromere

Explanation:

The behavior of homologous chromosomes at  late prophase 1 and metaphase1 and independent assortment at metaphase ii, with eventual separation  (segregation to different sex cells showed the behavior of chromosomes as stated by the Mendel segregation laws.

Which sets of mRNA codons could genetically code for a protein with the following amino acid composition:
Jobisdone [24]

Ans.

Codons are three nucleotide sequences present on DNA or RNA that codes for the amino acids or provide stop signal at the time of protein synthesis. Each codon codes for a specific amino acid. The amino acid proline (pro) is coded by CCG, CCT, CCA, and CCC; aspartate (asp) is coded by GAT and GAC; glycine is coded by GGA, GGG, GGT, and GGC; and lysine is coded by AAA and AAG.

Thus, the correct answer is 'option D). CCA-GAC-GGC-AAA.'

Marie discovers boxes of elements in a storage room. The boxes do not say which elements they contain, but they do have informat
boyakko [2]

Answer:

Explanation: The reactivity of metals increases as you move left in a period and as you move down in a group, so Marie needs to know the period and group of the element inside each box. Boxes that show locations in groups 1 or 2 or in period 8 contain the most reactive elements.

All organisms interact with their environment. choose one of the biogeochemical cycles and explain how various types of organism
julia-pushkina [17]

The best example of a biogeochemical showing the interaction among various organisms and the impact of human activity is the carbon cycle.

Carbon cycle represents the biogeochemical cycle that shows the movement of carbon compounds in the environment. It involves the atmosphere, hydrosphere, pedosphere and the biosphere of the earth. The producers or the plants use the atmospheric carbon dioxide for the process of photosynthesis to produce organic compounds. It is further passed to the various consumers or the heterotrophs of the food chain. Cellular respiration by these organisms releases carbon dioxide back to the atmosphere. The decomposers act on the dead organisms and release carbon compounds back to the atmosphere.

Human activities like burning of fossil fuels and deforestation which is the cutting of trees have contibuted excessively to the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide being a green house gas has also led to the global warming. Thus, burning of fossil fuels, aforestation or planting more trees can reduce the human impact on ecosystem.
